Former MLive reporter joins Byrum & Fisk team

Fisher brings a wide range of experience in photography, social media and storytelling. Prior to joining Byrum & Fisk, she was most recently a reporter with MLive and the Grand Rapids Press, where she covered a variety of issues impacting West Michigan.  

“Jada has a strong background in journalism working to amplify community stories,” said Mark Fisk, partner at Byrum & Fisk. “Her storytelling experience makes her a valuable asset to our growing list of clients, and we are pleased to welcome her to our team.” 

Fisher has covered local government, crime, social justice, business and more for several local publications including the Lansing State Journal. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a concentration in visual communications from Michigan State University. Fisher served as the Vice President of the MSU Association of Black Journalists, where she was instrumental in the resurgence of the organization. 

“I am excited for the opportunity to utilize my storytelling abilities to serve and support Byrum & Fisk clients,” said Fisher. “The firm has made historic changes in Michigan communities and it is a privilege to join a team with strong principles that align with my own. I look forward to contributing to Byrum & Fisk’s growth and success in the future.” 

Fisher grew up in Houston, Texas and currently resides in Lansing. In her spare time, she enjoys indoor gardening, cooking vegan dishes and playing with her loving dog. Fisher may be reached at jfisher@byrumfisk.com.
