Byrum & Fisk announces new Mid-Michigan hire

Gabby AbelByrum & Fisk Advocacy Communications is pleased to announce the addition of communications strategist Gabby Abel, a professional with an extensive background in government communications, politics and media relations.

Abel is a former communications manager for the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity. Abel curated content, developed communications strategies and managed media relations for the Prosperity Office – which housed the Michigan Poverty Task Force, Office of Global Michigan and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s post-secondary educational attainment campaign. She also previously worked for former Gov. Rick Snyder as a communications specialist.

Abel brings a broad range of experience in the labor and economic development industries as well as policy and government. She has a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Western Michigan University.
